Verity by Colleen Hoover
Verity by Colleen Hoover
Synopsis
Lowen is a struggling writer, having some financial issues and accepts a job of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of best selling author Verity Crawford, decides to hire Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series. His wife and author Verity Crawford was in an automobile accident and is unable to complete the series.
Jeremy asks Lowen to stay at their house for a few days to go through Verity’s office. She is ready to sort through her notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get started. While going through her office she finds Verity’s unfinished autobiography, which she didn’t indent for anyone else to read. Lowen decides she has to read it, hoping it would help her get to know the real Verity Crawford.
But what she finds is how their daughter actually died and her actual feelings of being a mother. She had an obsession with Jeremy. Lowen decides to keep the autobiography a secret from Jeremy. Lowen starts having feelings for Jeremy, even though he seems devoted to his injured wife. She thinks that if he reads Verity’s autobiography that the horrifying truth would make it impossible for him to continue to love his wife.
My review
This book so far is my favorite book by Colleen Hoover. This is definitely a romantic thriller. It is one of her darker books. When Lowen decides to stay and read through her notes and outlines to help her figure out the next book, I thought it was a good idea. But when strange things started happening, I would have been out of that house in an instant. When Lowen would see Verity looking at her or when she heard a noise and thought it was Verity (when Verity’s medical state is that she does not walk or talk).
Lowen finds herself caught up in Verity’s life. She is sleeping in her bed, spending time with her husband and their son.
This book starting from the very beginning is not like Hoover’s usual love stories. This is a dark romantic thriller, that kept me entertained from start to finish. I had to find out what happened to Verity and their daughters. Even after finding out, there was a twist ending that still haunts me.
This is must read romantic thriller. Verity by Colleen Hoover
