Ugly Love is a standalone romance novel. It tells a love story of Tate and Miles. Two people who run into each other and have an immediate connection. But the connection is all physical; at least that is what they tell themselves.
Synopsis
The store alternates between Tate, a registered nurse pursuing her masters degree and is in her early 20’s. Miles is an airline pilot in his mid 20’s. The chapters from Tate’s point of view are in the present. The chapters from Miles point of view are set back 6 years in the past.
Tate is an ER registered nurse who is pursuing her masters degree. She is planning on living with her older brother Corbin in his apartment temporarily. When she arrives at his apartment Corbin is away on business. There is a drunk man laying in front of the door crying. She calls Corbin and finds out the drunk man is his friend from across the hall. Corbin says to have him come inside and sleep on the sofa and sleep it off. Tate helps him in and he calls out “Rachel”.
They find out they have this intense sexual chemistry. But Miles tells her they will never be in a relationship together and he will never fall in love in with her. They agree to have a no strings attached sexual relationship. Their “relationship” falls into intense physical chemistry and alot of sex. Tate falls in love with Miles. But Miles keeps telling her he will never love her or anyone else ever again.
Tate wants to know what happened with “Rachel”. She senses Miles is a good person with a painful history. Will he ever open to her about Rachel? What did happen between him and Rachel? Will Miles ever learn to love Tate?
My Review
I loved this book and read it in 3 days. I needed to know what happened with Miles and Rachel and why he felt he could never love again. How Tate and Miles met was hilarious. She comes to stay with her brother and there is a drunk guy blocking her door. When she calls her brother, he calls his friend/neighbor across the hall to help. Turns out the drunk guy is the friend/neighbor.
They have immediate sexual chemistry. But he tells her they can never be more than just sex friends. She agrees because the chemistry and sex is so hot. But she starts to have feelings for him and she thinks he has feelings for her. After finding out about Rachel and what happened definitely puts things into perspective. It explains why Miles feels the way he does.
I love when Cap tells him that he needs to put the past behind him or he will never be free. The only way for him to put the past behind him is to see Rachel again. But will that be too much for Miles to handle?
This is a must read book about an intense physical relationship that can turn into something more; even when you don’t plan on it.
