Synopsis

Her husband Adam, is a struggling writer who has not had a successful career. Adam feels their marriage is struggling due to Sarah’s long hours at work.
Adam and Sarah purchased a second home in the woods; where Adam starts an affair with Kelly Summers. Then the unthinkable happens; Kelly is found murdered and Adam is arrested for the murder. Sarah decides to defend her husband; the man accused of killing his mistress.
My Review
This book is a physiological thriller with a twisted ending.The ending I did not anticipate. The book showed both Sarah’s and Adam’s point of view which I liked. The author’s style of writing is fantastic as the characters, story, plot, twists, turns, and everything else in between were all great. Each character had their own distinct personality and way of thinking.
The dynamics of marriage and the impact of infidelity are central to the plot. I’m not sure I could be in the same room with my husband after I found out he has been cheating on me. But she decides to help defend him. The story probes a man who was lonely in his marriage and winds up falling in love with both women. This book drove me crazy because I was trying to figure out if Adam actually killed Kelly.
I did have some issues with the book. No logical defense attorney would believe that she could do a better job than an impartial attorney with no connections. In reality, it would be a conflict of interest for her to defend her own husband. The police investigation seemed to be a little shaky.
You truly get pulled in as a reader as this mystery novel pushes the envelope for telling an incredible story that involves murder, infidelity, and all the consequences that come with it.
