Synopsis

Sex/Life is a steamy drama on Netflix. It is the story of Billie Connelly, a stay at home mother of two, who finds herself longing for her wild single days in New York City. Billie’s life with her husband Cooper is comfortable but she finds herself dreaming of what her life could have been with her ex-boyfriend Brad. She starts to not only fantasize about her past but she starts to journal her thoughts and feelings. Her husband reads her journal. He tracks down Brad to see the competition. Billie is happy and content with Cooper but a piece of her heart belongs to Brad.

Season One ⭐Spoiler Alert⭐

Billie and Cooper

Billie is married to her handsome husband Cooper, has 2 children and lives in a beautiful house. After years of playing with bad boys, Billie craved safety and no one felt safer than Cooper. They seem to have the perfect life. Except Billie keeps thinking about her past, wild and single life in New York City. She was single, wild and had an amazing sex life with random guys. She finds herself thinking about her ex-boyfriend Brad and their amazing, hot, steamy sex that seems to be lacking in her marriage.

Billie starts writing in her journal about her feelings and her fantasies. Mostly the hot sex she had with Brad. Her husband Cooper reads it and gets instantly insulted and upset that his wife is fantasizing about her ex. When he confronts her about it she denies that she has any feelings for Brad (her ex) but that she is unsatisfied with their current sex life. Cooper becomes obsessed with tracking Brad down to see who his competition is. That is when the infamous “shower scene” takes place. The look on Cooper’s face when he sees’ Brad naked was priceless.

Billie runs into Brad at Sasha’s( her BFF) apartment (the pair are friends with benefits) and their connection is just as strong as it once was. Leaving Billie confused about her marriage. Cooper tries to spice things up, but Billie’s mind is still very much on Brad. Brad realizes after years away from her that he wants to be with her now. He realizes that he loves her and can give her what he couldn’t before.

Brad and Billie’s past

Brad and Billie met in New York City. She was walking home from partying with Sasha when a guy tries to harass her and Brad steps in and gives her a ride home. Then insatiable romance blossoms, full of sex in various locations; elevators, nightclubs and rooftop pools.

Brad has abandonment issues which stem from his father leaving. Billie and Brad’s problem come to a head when Billie suffers a miscarriage. Instead of supporting her through this tough time, Brad goes into self-destruct mode. He blames himself for the miscarriage and makes out with a random woman and Billie’s cousins wedding. They break up. Billie urges Brad to work things out with his dad. When he tries, he realizes his father is living another life with other children and sets him off. He throws all her stuff out of his apartment and she accepts that their relationship is over.

After her second pregnancy she starts to yearn for Brad. Cooper isn’t giving her the sex that she so desperately craves. Things take a turn for the worst when Billie runs into Brad and Sasha’s’ apartment. They are sex friends with no strings. But there connection still burns bright. Cooper tries to spice up their sex life but something undefinable is missing. But BIllie has a hard time leaving her cozy family behind for someone who has hurt her so bad in the past. Even though their chemistry is so hot.

Cooper isn’t the only one with a wandering eye, he spends the night with his boss Francesca but says nothing happened. He loves his wife. Brad texts Billie one night that he is outside of her house. She runs outside, and Brad tells her that he is in love with her and that he wants to marry her. He proposes marriage and a life together. She turns him down and decides to stay with Cooper. Billie decides to back to school to get her Ph. D. and she is living her life in Connecticut with Cooper and their two kids.

A few months go by and Billie and Cooper are at their son’s play. She realizes that her life with Cooper is not enough. She runs to Brad’s apartment and says “I’m not leaving my husband. This changes nothing. Now f**k me”.

My review

Sex/Life Season One on Netflix. I absolutely love this show. This show is about a woman’s sexuality. She leaves her crazy life in NYC for a peaceful, stable life with Cooper. Except something is missing. You initially think its about her missing her wild, single life. But it really is that she misses Brad. She tries to go on with her life with Cooper but Brad keeps popping up in her head. Through the whole season she is torn between the two guys.

Cooper is gorgeous, successful, nice and is a wonderful father and husband. But Billie is not happy with their sex life. Cooper isn’t into sex as Billie needs him to be.

Brad is a gorgeous bad boy record producer. But he has hurt Billie in the past. Brad and Billie have this undeniable chemistry from the beginning. I think Cooper is a great guy but from the start I knew her heart belonged to Brad. I can’t wait to watch season 2.
