Obsessed with holiday movies

My daughter is obsessed with Home Alone 1 and 2, Deck the Halls, The Grinch and Christmas Chronicles 1 and 2. She says she doesn’t care that it’s not Christmas. We literally watched Deck the Halls this morning.

Home Alone

Kevin McCallister acts out the night before a family trip to Paris, his mother makes him sleep in the attic. After the McCallisters mistakenly leave for the airport without Kevin, he awakens to an empty house. He assumes his wish to have no family has come true. But his excitement sours when he realizes that two con men plan to rob the McCallister residence. He alone must protect the family home.

Home Alone 2

After Kevin loses track of his father at the airport, he mistakenly gets on a plane headed for New York City. While the rest of the McCallisters fly to Florida. Kevin cons his way into a room at the Plaza Hotel and begins his usual antics. Kevin discovers that the Sticky Bandits are on the loose. He struggles to stop them from robbing an elderly man’s toy store just before Christmas.

Deck the Halls

Steve, suburban dad and Christmas enthusiast, finds a wrinkle in his well-ordered existence with the arrival of his new neighbor Danny. Danny has big dreams and plans to illuminate his house with enough holiday lights to make it visible from space. Not to be outdone, Steve declares a war of one-upmanship with Danny that threatens to drag the Christmas spirit through the slush.

The Grinch

The Grinch and his loyal dog, Max, live a solitary existence inside a cave on Mount Crumpet. His main source of aggravation comes during Christmastime when his neighbours in Whoville celebrate the holidays with a bang. When the Whos decide to make Christmas bigger and brighter, the disgruntled Grinch realises there is one way to gain peace and quiet. With help from Max, the green grump hatches a scheme to pose as Santa Claus, steal Christmas and silence the Whos’ holiday cheer once and for all.

Christmas Chronicles

Siblings Kate and Teddy Pierce hatch a scheme to capture Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. When the plan goes awry, the kids join forces with a somewhat jolly Saint Nick and his loyal elves to save the holiday before it’s too late.

  1. Riley was obsessed with Arthur Christmas was she was around your daughter’s age!
And we joke because when she was a baby she insisted on a Christmas music CD in the car IN THE SUMMER! 😂 I think Christmas is just a happy time for them so there’s some comfort in the movies and music.

    1. Yes I agree. They associate Christmas as the happiest time of year. She made me watch Deck the Halls last night……again
