Holiday Baking
Every year right around Christmas I bake cookies, it’s a holiday tradition. The cookies I usually make every year are chocolate chip, peanut butter, thumbprint, sugar cookies, crescent cookies and chocolate- cherry snowballs. Every year I try and add a new recipe.
Thumbprint Cookies
These cookies are yummy. I use red raspberry preserves. When I make these, I heat up the preserves in the microwave for a few seconds before putting it into the cookies. It makes it easier to fill the cookies. After I roll the dough into a ball, I dip it lightly into sugar. I definitely recommend putting them in the freezer before adding the preserves, so they won’t spread out during baking.

Chocolate-Cherry Snowballs
I use the maraschino cherries in the jar. When adding the chocolate, I heat it up in the microwave and put it into a zip lock bag. I cut the tip of the bag and put a small design on top of each cookie. Leave on the counter about 30-45 for the chocolate to harden before storing them.

Crescent Cookies
This is a family favorite. My mom used to make them every single year for the holidays. You have to be careful after baking these, they can break or crumble.
Sugar Cookies
My daughter loves to make sugar cookies and use cookie cutters. I had a hard time finding recipes for cut out cookies. This recipe is good. The only issue I had was that it was still sticky after mixing. I added a little bit more flour and it came out perfectly.
I make a few with sprinkles (I add the sprinkles before I put them in the oven). The rest I make plain and after cooling, my daughter loves to decorate with cookie frosting and sprinkles.
