My story
When Mike and I got married I remember thinking I can’t get heels too high because then I would be taller than him. I am 5’1 and he is 5’4. When I wear heels depending on the size, I can be as tall or taller than him. There seems to be a great expectation on tv and in movies that women should be shorter than their spouse.
I am 5’1 so most guys are going to be taller than me. But honestly Who Cares?? My last boyfriend was 6’1 and that relationship was a nightmare (not related to the height issue). Guys always used to tell me when I was younger that I was cute and adorable. When I was in middle school and high school guys used to ask to pick me up (literally)because I was so small.
Most of my boyfriend’s have been 5’9 and taller. It never seemed to be an issue. When I started dating my husband, it was a little strange at first since he is only 5’4. But it was never an issue for us. We are both short.

I asked 3 friends of mine who are taller than their spouses, how it affected their life and marriage.
Crystal and Patrick have been married for over 14 years. Crystal is 6’2 and Patrick is 5’10. She says there is no issue at all with her being taller than him. She says that he actually likes it and she still wears heels👠 They are still happily married.
Suzette and her ex-husband were married for 17 years. He is 5’8 and she is 5’9. She said her being taller did bother both of them. She said she never wore heels because she did not want to be taller than him. But that wasn’t the main reason for their divorce.
Tracey and her ex-husband Jason were married for almost 20 years. She is 5’4 and he is 5’6. When she wore heels she was taller than him . She stated that their height difference did not make a difference in their relationship. He said her height was never an issue in their relationship. She wore heels when she wanted to. Their divorce had nothing to do with their height.
Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden- she is 5’9 and he is 5’6
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas- She is 5’9 and he is 5’7
Helen Lasichanh and Pharrell- She is 6′ and he is 5’9
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban- she is 5’10 and he is 5’10
