5 Best Children’s Books for Girls
By reading to children, you provide them with a deep understanding about their world and fill their brains with background knowledge. They then use this acquired background knowledge to make sense of what they see, hear, and read, which aids their cognitive development. Literature is one of the best ways to help kids understand something without necessarily having to experience it for themselves. Reading to your child helps to expose them to all types of subjects and concepts, building our children’s understanding of humanity and the world around them.
Young children get familiar with the print form of language when parents and teachers read to them. Reading aloud helps them get familiar with the concept of words and their associated meanings. In school, children get exposed to shared reading, where the teacher reads a book and encourages them to answer relevant questions. This strategy helps them comprehend text they would have otherwise struggled to understand.
My daughter is 8 years old and these are her favorite book series we have read so far. We read every single day. Some books I read to her, some books she reads to me and some books we read together.

This series is very special to me. It came out when I was in elementary school. My mother used to read me these books all the time. I love that I get to share it with my daughter. I usually will read it to her. She will read a few pages but she enjoys when I read it to her.

The pictures in these books are beautiful. It is very colorful and keeps her attention. The words are not too difficult. She is able to read this book independently.
Dork Diaries
These series are written as person writing in her diary. My daughter will attempt to read independently but there are some harder words that I will try and help her with. She definitely enjoys these books.

Disney Princess Beginnings
My daughter and I just discovered this series at our town library. She loves disney so she picked up these books right away. Most of these books are at a level P. I have her read these books to me because there are harder words that she needs to sound out.
