10 Reasons You are Always Tired
Not getting enough sleep is only one reason you may be tired all the time.Is it just lack of sleep or could there be another reason you are so wiped out?Do you treat your body right? If you aren’t eating good, not getting enough sleep or not exercising; They are all related. Here are some other reasons why:
1. Not getting enough sleep
Are you getting 7-8 hours of sleep per night? If you are not, then that can be the reason you feel tired the following day. Signs your not getting enough sleep:
- excessive sleepiness
- irritabilty
- frequent yawning
- daytime fatigue
2. Dehydration
Being adequately hydrated throughout the day is essential for your body to operate as it should. Dehydration can affect sleep in these ways:
- can lead to muscle spasms
- muscle cramping
- headaches
- dry mouth
3. Lack of exercise
Studies show that exercising regularly improves physical function and a higher quality of life. Exercising also helps improve sleep.
4.Poor Diet
“You are what you eat” may be a cliche, but it reflects the fact that nutrition serves as a backbone for health, providing the energy we need and other inputs that make the body function properly.A balanced diet made up largely of a variety of vegetables and fruits is able to provide broad range of vitamins and minerals, contributing to better sleep while promoting a healthy weight.
This day and age with everyone’s busy lifestyle people are eating more and more fast food. Fast food is generally high in calories, fat, sugar and sodium.
5.Stress
Some stress is normal but chronic stress can lead to fatigue.Stress and anxiety can make sleeping worse.
6.Underlying medical condition

Caffeinated drinks can feel like they boost energy but an overaliance of caffeine can make you feel more tired throughout the day. Research shows that people are more tired in the morning therefore consume large amounts of caffeine. Which impairs your sleep cycle. Therefore you have more caffeine to combat the fatigue. Which continues the poor sleep cycle.
8.Depression
Depression can cause you to have little interest in daily activities, which can lead to fatigue, as well as affect your eating and sleeping habits.
9.Work Schedule
Does your work schedule affect your sleeping? Do you work overnight or late shifts? This can significantly affect your sleep schedule.
10.Nutritional Deficiencies
Some low vitamin and mineral deficiencies can cause increase in fatigue. Here are a few levels that your doctor might check:
- Iron- Checking for anemia
- Vitamin B12
- Vitamin D
- Folate
- Magnesium
