Need a few minutes
If you are in need of a few minutes to yourself. Give your kid a stool for in front of the sink, hand him/her some cups and bowls and turn on the water.
Snacks on the go
I always pack snacks wherever we go. Whether it be fruit, granola bar or goldfish.
Help with chores
Kids (most) will love to help with chores around the house. Give them little jobs like taking the clothes out of the drier, sweeping the floor or my daughter’s favorite; cleaning the appliances with windex.
Mental break
Pull your kid from school for a lunch date or for a vacation. Everyone needs a mental break.
Goodbye
Always say goodbye to your kid when you leave the house- even if they cry.
You are the parent
Always remember that you are the parent and NOT their friend. Your kids have enough friends. What they need is a PARENT!
Pick your battles
Kids can’t absorb too many rules without turning off and tuning out. Forget about the little stuff like fashion choices. Focus on things that really matter such as hitting, lying and foul language.
Create quality time
Create quality time with your child. Make time to read books together, play with your kids and encourage family time.
Trust your gut
No one knows your child better than you. Follow your instincts when it comes to their health and well-being. If you think something’s wrong, chances are you are right.
Eating meals together
Sitting down at the table together is a relaxed way for everyone to connect. It’s a time to share happy news or talk about your day. It also helps your kids develop healthy eating habits.
